# How to find the right Google Maps URL for a competitor

To track a competitor's reviews in Review Collect, you need to provide the right Google Maps URL. Here's how to find it.

> **Important rule**: you must use **Google Maps** (`maps.google.com`), not Google Search. A Google Search URL will not work for retrieving the reviews.

## Open Google Maps

Go to [**maps.google.com**](https://maps.google.com/) from your browser. Make sure you are on `maps.google.com` and not on `google.com`.

## Search for the competitor

Type the **exact name of the business** in the search bar, then select it from the results.

## Make sure you're on the right listing

Before copying the URL, verify that the listing matches the competitor you're targeting:

* The name is correct
* The address matches their location
* You can see their Google reviews

## Copy the URL from the address bar

Two formats are accepted, both work:

```
https://maps.app.goo.gl/xxxxx
```

You're all set! Paste this URL into the designated field on Review Collect: the retrieval of this competitor's reviews will work correctly.
